What To Expect On Your Scuba Dive

Specialty dives are just one more way Scuba Mike can take a good dive and turn it into a great dive. Here are several options to choose from:

  • Night Dives – When day turns to night, new sea life comes out to play. Experience a thrilling feeling of mystery as your spotlight illuminates vivid colors unseen during the day. Take in a stunning Maui sunset then enter the water at dusk.
  • Scooter Dives – Scuba Mike’s personal favorite for its ability to increase the range of any dive through the use of a diver propulsion vehicle (DVA). Certified divers can explore large wrecks, deep caves, and extensive reef systems with a new level of speed and less air depletion.
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy – Considered a highly advanced technique by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), peak performance buoyancy specialty dives allow divers to interact gently with their underwater surroundings. Naturally buoyant, scuba divers use neutral buoyancy to glide effortlessly through the water, use less air, and hover on purpose. This Maui specialty dive will take your basic skills to the next level. Expert neutral buoyancy divers are able to use their bodies and gear to maneuver in ways they didn’t think were previously possible.
  • Underwater Photography – Maui provides some of the most amazing underwater scenes naturally, so why not capture them forever with your waterproof camera? As one of the most popular diving specialties, underwater photography dives guided by Scuba Mike are fun and adventurous. Divers are encouraged to bring along their point and shoot cameras or more sophisticated versions. Both types of cameras and some guidance from Scuba Mike will produce awesome shots!
  • Underwater Naturalist – A specialty dive geared at not only experiencing the underwater world from above, but also understanding how the underwater ecosystem functions on a complex level. This type of dive is perfect for any diver interested in understanding the following types of underwater dynamics:
    • Food chains
    • Predator/Prey dynamics
    • Underwater conservation techniques
    • Aquatic life groups

Why scuba dive while visiting Maui?

Scuba Mike is a seasoned PADI instructor enthusiastic to teach any diver as much as possible about underwater ecosystems and how humans can experience them without disrupting their delicate balance. To be passionate about scuba diving often stems from a healthy appreciation of underwater conservation. Scuba Mike takes pride in advancing that knowledge for each of his students.

Maui specialty dives are designed for enjoyment of not only the sport of scuba diving but also to gain a higher understanding of how all species coexist together in such a fascinating manner. Through these advanced diving techniques, Scuba Mike illustrates how simple it is for divers to become aware of underwater interactions they previously took for granted.
